and the fremen (from what i understand) eventually cease to exist as a people, never really gaining a free Dune

i played the silent hill 2 remake recently, and the soundtrack (specifically the piano passages) reminded me a lot of this movie's soundtrack so i wanted to watch it again. i got to show the movie to some friends who were also interested in seeing it which was awesome
the movie has two kind of central themes that still hold up today, that being the normalization of sexual violence/general violence against women and how that can come from seemingly "ordinary"…
this movie has the color grading of a made for netflix movie which sours like almost everything visually about the movie, it makes everything look really really fake. everything looks like it's done with CGI or on a greenscreen (and in a bad way)
anya taylor joy is gorgeous. mother. serving. miles teller is there
the plot is not really that enticing (it's interesting as a concept but idk man its just like kind of a worse resident evil)
as a valid critique though. i should probably turn my brain off for movies like this. let it be camp (this is only a little camp imo.)
