The Boy and the Heron 2023
Such a beautiful story of grief and the after math of navigating life after loss. This film has become one of my favorites. It shows the process of a young boy dealing with the loss of his mother in a hospital fire during war. He goes through this dreamscape fantasy world between the living and the dead, with a grey heron after stumbling upon a tower on his new homes property. This film definitely had me feeling intense emotions, and was overall a very touching story.
