  This is stylized story telling at its best. The narrative is compelling enough but the way Korine allows the audience to relate to and feel inside of an outside world through the characters is subtle but remarkable. It's his presentation that really immerses the audience, however. James Franco and his angels deliver memorable performances. Gucci Mane's acting chops seem nonexistent yet his performance is enjoyable nonetheless. It took me a while to get around to this one but I certainly understand why people like this one.

  When everyone starts clapping for them at the end, I get choked up. When Junior's father shows his "Jamaica" shirt, I lose it.

  I should be considered an anime novice. But I am no novice when it comes to a bad ass piece of story telling, and that's exactly what Ninja Scroll is. The back story was a little unclear for me, but it didn't matter. The fight scenes are awesome and they gradually get more gnarly. The enemies are all cool and unique and the protagonist fucks shit up. The love interest is telegraphed, but still satisfying. The art is great and…
