  Baker’s obsession with the inconsistencies of the American Dream hits its apex in Anora. The bitter post-exodus of foreign cultures into late-capitalism America and marginalized existences rehearsed in his oeuvre and which he’s known for gives place to a tragic fairytale shining light in modern Western’s depreciation of the body enhanced by contemporary media.

  “Greatest Days” by Take That, Robin Schulz, and Calum Scott, enriched the film’s narrative in a way no original soundtrack could have achieved. The plastic shine and the elusive promise of happiness that EDM embodies make it an unmatched semantic choice for Anora’s dream.
