  I mean the production value is stunning and Vivien Leigh (who is basically on screen for the entire 3:45?!) and Clark Gable really do give iconic performances but goddamn if this isn’t Problematic, Inc. Also lowkey forgot that it turns into a Greek tragedy at the end.

  Shoutout to TCM for the intro to put the film in context!!! Definitely think everyone should see this film at some point in their life, but I’ll go ahead and say it…too motherfucking long.

  It is somehow even better than you have heard.

  Literally I have prayed for days like these. A movie musical adaptation that is faithful to the source, expands the plot and characters where necessary, and is just fucking WELL MADE. My god!!! John Chu, I am sorry I ever doubted you because this is a masterpiece.

  I also cannot stop saying “I don’t think so, Michelle Yeoh” so the press tour also gets 5 stars.

  Finally have my nights back after a busy fall so I can get back into movie watching.

  Started with one of my all time favorites that is making me reevaluate my Top 4. Goddamn if this isn’t a perfect movie. The writing and pacing and way that Greta structured the film is all incredible. Also Laurie Metcalf and Saoirse should have won Oscars for this.
