A genuinely well done satire of and ode to 90s rom-coms, while somehow perfectly encapsulating 2020s aesthetics in a way that felt both polished and tongue-in-cheek. This movie knows it sucks a little and has fun with it, basking in its theatricality. A satisfying and delightful watch, one I come back to time and time again.
A beautiful film. Gorgeous stills, an excellent use of vibrant colour.
The team behind this film demstrated a spectacular mastery of texture, enhanced by interesting and purposeful cinematography, refined costume and set dressing, and an extremely evocative use of sound.
A timeless examination of faith, ambition, duty, and the Church, with particular relevance to the present.
Some of Ralph Fiennes' best work, and commendable performances from the whole cast - Isabella Rossellini being a stand out.
Phenomenal.
Mesmerisingly bad. Featured several brilliant aesthetics at war with each other, stilted and bizarre dialogue, and a chronology that appeared frankly accidental.
This felt like three movies in a trench coat, with no clear moral or message to be found.
I commend it for its imagery (aside from the bad cgi) and for the ingenious character name 'Wow! Platinum.' She has a special place in my heart.
Genuinely the first time I have ever found Adam Driver amusing or enjoyable…
