  God how can even begin to describe this movie, it’s takes what some might see as an over done or saturated genre of cinema being horror/ haunted house horror but does it in a way that tell a truly powerful story.

  As someone who struggled with mental illness a suicide as a young teenager, this movie spoke to me in a way no other has, not even to mention the way it handles sexual and non sexual abuse. I truly connected with the main character of this movie through and through, the wanting of the girl whose unobtainable the struggle with sexuality within friendships, the dealing with lose all of it was me and it made me so hopeful to see this character have a happy ending, as a 14 y/o it gave me hope that my life wouldn’t be so hard forever

  As a Mexican American this movie truly spoke to my heritage, as a child I was raised in a somewhat traditionally Mexican way and this movies imagery of the afterlife made me really happy
