I am already a fan of the graphic novel but felt like the relationship between Bal and Ambrosius wasn’t fleshed out to its potential and didn’t like the bittersweet ending tone, AND THIS FIXED BOTH. The animation style was so cool, voice acting amazing and plot consistently engaging, just an all round great animated film and deserved that oscar nom, it won’t win but would be so cool if it did

This film is heartbreaking in every way, i found myself crying by just 10 minutes into the film. As a daughter closer with her father i found watching their interactions so endearing but watching Calum’s life unfold was just sickening, and so very real. Some of the best performances and chemistry in a movie i have seen.
