  The first Rohmer protagonist I can’t stand. Ew. His self delusion is crazy- tricking himself into believing he is morally justified in his desire. The intellectual backflips are embarrassing. I hate liars and people who refuse to see reality. Again, ew. 

  But it’s still a good movie because, I think that may be the point. I think we’re supposed to laugh at him a little because that’s what Aurora does. Especially at the end when she admits she’s engaged and…
