Everything I love. An incessantly long, multi-part historical drama from the 60s with exquisite costuming and weird ass film techniques. The Soviet Empire’s greatest achievement imo. I want to live in this movie.

The World of Suzie Wong 1960
Pretty bad plot (centred around toxic Robert attaining his love interest and being fawned over by multiple women), misogynistic, full of racial stereotyping, but the interior of Robert’s room is very stylish, 60s Hong Kong is cool to see, and Nancy Kwan is fantastic even though she was boxed into this role

For the production, costume design, and dance numbers. The Dior new look silhouettes and use of colour were visually so so good. Storyline was gross with an almost 60 year old Astaire plus Audrey Hepburn’s character regression going from independent and philosophically inclined woman to crying in a churchyard for her ancient but emotionally embryonic lover
