Moonrise Kingdom 2012
Lighthearted, nostalgic and whimsical, Wes Anderson didn't fail to deliver with this film. The cinematography combined with the imaginative, child-like plot set in the 1960's made this movie a worthwhile watch for all ages.

Good Morning, Vietnam 1987
Robin Williams once again brought humor and life to what otherwise would have been a somber topic to cover in a movie. Good Morning Vietnam stands out from any other movie about the Vietnam War, as the first comedy about the war. Not only did Williams's role allow for his sensational improv skills to really shine (every single broadcast he did was unscripted), but his acting skills were also showcased in some of the movie's more serious moments. Overall a wonderful movie that broke the mold of movies about the war through comedy, and also by portraying the Vietnamese people as real human beings.
