  I’m not always a fan of movies with out a clear story arch and I felt this film dragged on a bit. However the ambience, grittiness, and subtle nods to challenges present in our society (racism, sexism, class inequality, war on drugs, and the intersection be tween all these issues) really made me think about what it means to live in the US. The shots of the small towns in the middle of nowhere felt familiar and nostalgic but the exploitation of star and the people she sells to made me realized how much is wrong with America.
