Only children, amirite?
Did serious justice to the silent film and the novel and vampire lore. Photography was sublime. Casting was inspired. The right amounts of horror, creep, and beauty. Basically a perfect film.
This film is the cardboard cutout version of a strikingly profound and complicated love story which sparked the greatest literature in human history, interspersed with non-contextualized lines from actual correspondence between V&V to make it sound smart. The lead actresses (who were shockingly boxed in) and the costume dept made a valiant attempt to do justice to an extraordinary story.
