this movie is so freakin cool, unexpectedly so. had no idea about it until i saw the trailer 2 minutes beforehand. the music was divine. the fits were fire. i reallyy enjoyed the slow-burn, mystery thriller vibes with only a handful of tastefully crafted life-or-death moments to keep the story breathing. kate blanchett, you know i love to see ya. GREAT chemistry between all of the characters, especially the main duo. *in borat voice* my wifeee

campy sci fi supremacy

while the “expendables” concept really only served as a device to critique capitalism’s exploitative tendencies by exaggerating it to an absurd extent, it brings up VERYY interesting philosophical points about identity. what makes you, you? your body? your memories? your relationships? some magic combination of all three?? i dunno :D
this movie has so much going on. specifically, robert pattinson and steven yeun. well-written characters. punchy script. a true dystopian story. i also enjoyed the social commentary, very clever. media literacy, don’t fail us now !!

public speaking skills so cracked, they made me the pope

this was quite a picture. some truly good moments: everyone pausing to listen to the wind in the Sistine Chapel after a hole gets blown through the wall. the isolated shots of the candidates in their seats. how the cardinals speak in their native romance language and still understand each other. the role of duty in the face of grief. religious cultural commentary that even i could grasp. Ralph Fiennes. Stanley Tucci. oh my !

no one yearns like this anymore and it makes me sick. bring back simping. bring back pathetic, unadulterated devotion for the doe-eyed stranger with a strange family who you met a few weeks ago at a party
