Probably all time best DeNiro performances for me, his way of portraying Jake La Motta’s obsessiveness over every minute detail until he has it cornered into a belief he’s supposing to be the truth is amazing. He really shows the self destructiveness undergone through La Motta’s life, relationships and boxing career.

A definite must watch if your into corporate/governmental conspiracy stories. What I liked the most though was the framing of shots, for example at about the 5 minute mark we cut into a wide angle zoom in of what looks to be seven committee men delivering their deliberations of Senator Carroll’s assassination to the people, however the shot is framed to almost resemble a coffin underground.
