    I’m glad Robert Eggers exists, is research oriented and occult obsessed. Another beautiful film that works taken literally, but I’m predisposed to schizophrenic thinking so let me pose a barely coherent theory.

    It feels strange to hate this movie so much. I agree with its thesis, but this is just a really terribly made movie. It’s been re-edited and shelved for unknown reasons. Did focus groups scare the studio? Something must’ve gone wrong.
