The Princess Bride 1987
One of my favorite movies of all time! So quotable and is it super duper cheesy? Yes of course it is but that’s why it’s so good and I love all of the characters, even the villains are good villains. I wish we had more 80’s medieval fantasy vibe movies 💕

Beetlejuice 1988
I typically don’t really love Tim Burton movies but Beetlejuice is one of my favorite movies of all time. I wish more movies could be like it. I especially love this is an original script, and I also love the use of colors/designs to show how the Maitlands are dying/coming to terms with the fact they are no longer alive. The music from Danny Elfman is to die for (seriously some of his best composing work).

Hereditary 2018
This is controversial, I know, but I didn’t like Hereditary as much as a lot of other people. I’ve seen it twice and I will say upon watching it a second time I did like it more. However, for me, I think Midsommar took the cake and I just feel like Hereditary was trying to be a little bit like Rosemary’s baby (not totally but similar vibes) and I don’t know. I can’t describe what I think it’s lacking but…

I have only seen two of Aster’s films but this one definitely takes the cake. I especially enjoyed it because its use of bright colors and major setting during the daytime lures you in for some batshit insane things. Great acting all around but especially from Florence Pugh (seriously she has an amazingly good American accent always). I think this is Aster’s best film and we need more daytime horror.
