    very funny and very sad, baker clearly has an ear for how people communicate which makes the movie difficult to feel outright averse to. it is a film about the conditions of life under capitalism which is fundamentally only concerned with characters. but apart from the flashiness and the humor, i'm hesitant to say there's *that* much under the surface here that one wouldn't necessarily glean from the cliffsnotes version. i just can't imagine wanting to
    rewatch this at home.
