This movie + Thor love and thunder scream:
We need to emphasize a family friendly plot line that appeals to the hundreds of thousands of parents that are being dragged to see this movie by their 7 year old kids. The story and portrayal could’ve been so much more badass, but no, Marvel must reaffirm to the mothers of America that these films are kid-friendly.
Disney is now so out of touch with both their Marvel and Star Wars fanbases.

Turning Red 2022
Writers tried to do far too many things at once. Two major themes: Asian generational trauma and periods. Most Asian viewers that picked up on the first theme were weirded out by this movie and its weird portrayal of Asian family dynamics, but the idea of periods and womanhood was done well.
It just ended up confusing people since they tried to tackle two things huge topics at once.
