  So I actually got to work on this movie. Vicky was such a sweetheart of a director. But I'm very frustrated with scenes that ended up on the cutting room floor that required long hours of patience from me. I know that's just filmmaking but still. This movie is tropes but I did enjoy the romance. Both Kemper and Grimes sold their love story for me. An extra 10 minutes would have been nice to give more room to breathe. Movie felt rushed.

  Just saw the latest planet of the apes film. Let's look at Wes Ball, the filmmaker. My introduction to him was with the Maze Runner movies. Action adventure young adult movies that for a lot of people felt like lesser versions of the hunger games movies. I remember thinking, "this guy knows what he's doing with action. If he had a better script, he would be doing amazing things.
