Not everything needs to be subtle. Sometimes it's fun to have themes shoved down our throats with style and excess. Sometimes that's the most interesting way of dealing with persistent archetypes and perversions that run deep in our cultural mythos.
This was okay and a fun watch with a friend. The big bloody payout at the end didn't do a whole lot for me. I think some more tension and surprise could have made it better and less like empty spectacle.
