Really think Linklater missed not showing more of Jesse and Celine as parents, but he tends to block out generational influences that don’t serve the narrative (see Dazed and Confused, basically Charlie Brown on dope).
Anyway, the atmosphere of this film will always bring me back despite marital conflicts that leave the viewer claustrophobic with grinding teeth. It’s rich and pulled straight from life, making it timeless, and Linklater is a master of making an otherwise pretentious film strike all…
