Seance on a Wet Afternoon 1964
Having watched Séance before this, we expected quite a few of the story beats to go in a different direction. Pak Bueng on Fire 1987
Hopefully more people will watch this solid short with a delightfully crackly transfer and wonderful 80s colors. With stories that are underrepresented in the film canon and the popular culture landscape, it’s always refreshing to be reminded that people have been asserting their place for longer than we know. I’m glad to have seen this, and I frankly wish I could see more of the lives of these characters. Such is the struggle with a short.
