    Phoenix

    ★★★★

Much better than I anticipated, low-budget Phoenix delivers a great plot mainly involving a heist but also gives us a number of sub plots with an impressive screenplay, sure it’s got Tarentino influence all over it but it’s the 90’s and this is a crime drama.. figures. Overall it’s a gritty neo-noir detailing a cop’s gambling addiction and the problems that follow him around, well worth a watch particularly for the terrific ending.

Guns, explosions, fights, bad-ass anti-hero, hot ass girl, hot ass desert, corrupt cop, revenge plot; Joshua Tree is absolute nonsense but damn, it’s a whole lot of fun.

Highly ambitious with its attempt to shake the ‘Hollywood satire’ theme to its core, The Substance is rather unique and shocking to say the least, body horror hasn't been this good in years.

    Nosferatu

    ★★★★★

Visually stunning, the lightning in every scene was breathtaking. The score was tremendous building tension and dread at every corner. The acting was class, phenomenal performances from everyone. A reimagining of the silent classic in the same name; the script and screenplay was astounding.

For me, Nosferatu was flawless, I was completely in awe. A masterpiece in gothic film horror,
Robert Eggers you’ve done it again.
