There is something very special to me about Australian films like this. They start out awkward and stilted, nothing ever really happens and there is rarely any grand narrative or purpose for any one character but they’re beautiful films. Praise and He Died with a Felafel in His Hand both feel like this, but $9.99s attention to detail and artistry set it apart from the rest. I couldn’t help but notice all the attention to detail in each indoor set. The plaster moulding on the ceilings, and the door frames, the lighting and the trinkets that fill each apartment.
I really enjoyed this film.
