  This movie was insipid. What gives, Nicholas Ray? Sure, the gunfights were action-packed, and Joan Crawford gives a decent performance, but what about the guitar?

  When selling a movie on the basis of an instrument, you'd think that prominently featuring said instrument would be a good idea. However, the muttonheads over at Republic Pictures just couldn't seem to get this through their thick skulls.

  Can we get back to the basics, please?
