I have to return some videotapes.
And I kinda live for movies. (And Mustangs.)
A satire in the same vein as American Psycho, no one listens to anyone, everyone's on drugs and kids are running around playacting like adults and just trying to survive their clueless parents. There's something beautiful about this movie that involves a disembodied video game character, dolphins, kidnappings, happy accidents and the blackest of humor. Beyond the superb and intensely dark moments, though, the finest and most touching scenes are between Bell and the two mothers - there's nothing better than Dean's final introduction of Troy to his mom. And there's also Rooney's fantastic Sleep Song on the soundtrack.
