Probably have the same taste in movies as your grandpa.
Favorites are my favorite first watches this month.
God I love this film. It was so great watching it again for the first time in awhile and it still really holds up for me. It is a nice warm technicolor blanket that just makes you feel good. From Donald O’ Connor (for me the standout of this film) jumping around and falling on the ground during "Make Em Laugh" to Gene Kelly's gorgeous crooning in "Would you?" to Debbie Reynold's (whom had never danced before this film) dancing…
Awesome. This is prolly my favorite George Clooney performance I have seen.
Craziest part of the whole thing was finding out that Sun Ra and Captain Beefheart were on SNL in the late 70s.
This was fantastic, in the words of my friend Brendan on his review of this movie, “this allegory was allegorying its ass off!” There was also some amazing acting, visuals and most of all an amazing use of a Richard Wagner piece that I never got tired of.
Average Thursday night with me and the boys in Boone. The old fella with the trumpet had me cackling.
