  It’s a major downgrade in quality after X2.. but watchable. Overstuffed with characters.. most get less than a few minutes of screen time. The VFX are terrible, despite the massive budget the film had for its time.

  Having only ever watched the odd SNL sketch, I figured the 50th anniversary special would be a good episode to watch as my first in full. The sketch with De Niro was my favourite. Really loved seeing Paul McCartney close out the episode too.

  Chalamet’s portrayal of Dylan is impressive! I really enjoyed his renditions of the songs. All the other musical performances are fantastic too. Loved Ed Norton as Seeger. I found the story to be a bit slow.. but I think that someone not so versed in Dylan history would enjoy it more. If this is your introduction to Dylan and you enjoyed it, check out the Scorsese doco, No Direction Home. Don’t Look Back is also a fascinating peek into this period of Dylan’s career.
