My thoughts revolve around comparing this movie to the original one and the staged musical. Is that fair?
Being both a mean girl and a musical fan, it is painful for me to say that I would have preferred that this movie did not exist. It's nice to see the script changed to better meet the needs of the new generation of audiences.
Renee is fantastic. The cast is good (when they are not singing), but that's pretty much it. Those arrangements, what's up with that? The direction it felt amateur.
I am sad.
