  The Demon 1963

  The first 20 minutes or so are incredible. After that things slow down a lot and there are extended passages of church bells ringing. Later a different type of bell rings a lot. I mean, it definitely feels way ahead of its time in how it portrays the dynamics of a woman scorned by first a man, then an entire village, but it's not the most entertaining watch in the back half.

  A big step down. Hemsworth and ATJ just don't have the sauce.

  But it still has some of the absolutely coolest shit I've seen in a movie the past few years, so that's nice.

  Didn't expect to have many "thoughts" on a 12 minute short about an alligator but this done made me do it.

  It made me think a lot about how poor people aren't afforded basic dignities, like maintaining a relationship with a loved pet. Granted, this is an alligator, but if he'd had a dog, he would have run into many of the same problems "no 4-leg pet policy").

  And then how that frustration builds and impacts the relationships that make…

  My question 10 minutes in was "Where the Kia Girlz at?" and it was promptly answered.

Following
