Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan 1989
While this movie truly doesn’t start until the last half hour, when Jason is ACTUALLY in Manhattan, as the title suggests, the true hero of this film is not who you think. Suspiria 1977
Suspiria, feels like you’ve been drugged, and transported to the strangest haunted house ever. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives 1986
Ahhhhh now this is what I like in my slashers. From the very first moment you’re hurled into the most completely nonsensical plot and see a mans heart get grabbed through his chest and out of his back. Extremely self aware with its humor and character tropes, and very over the top and amusing with its kills, Friday the 13th, Part 6, will always be a great choice when looking for an entertaining asf horror to watch with your friends. This meets all the criteria for the classic Halloween, horror vibes that you’re looking for.
