Better Man 2024
It’s one of the more creative films I’ve watched. Whatever the reason for making RW a chimp, it surprisingly works. It’s also probably necessary since he is a very unlikeable protagonist intent on ruining his own life, yet by making him a chimpanzee it makes you sympathize with him. Fun musical numbers and some visually trippy scenes. Overall a clever way to portray RW’s rise and a fun watch.

The Brutalist 2024
I’d be lying if I said it didn’t bore me at parts, but it’s a great film that captures the reality of so many immigrants. Adrien Brody is great as expected, and he has a solid supporting cast to round it out. Like the architectural style at the center of the story—this movie is harsh, cold, and often ugly, but with undoubted beauty in the struggle.
