Limonov: The Ballad 2024
Kirill Serebrennikov's most rebellious, anarchical, and self-indulgent movie so far - and probably his most accessible one. Wasn't expecting to like it so much because of the mediocre ratings and the director's two previous messy films. I kept wondering if people would think the same of this movie if it was made by an American director, but only a punk gay Russian like Kirill could have done this and I loved it. Don't know anything about Eduard Limonov, but I'd be pretty happy to spend my final days with an army full of angry twinks like he did.
