The film really hinges on Eisenberg and Culkin's relationship. Thankfully, they make for incredibly believable cousins, both delivering performances with depth and conviction. Super developed characters in their own right, but Culkin really steals the show here.

He's such a great realistic portrayal of a man in decline. Someone deeply interested in his cultural roots, and his family. I think David sort of sums up the character, better than I could, in the dinner scene.

    The film is also just…

Simple premise but Bong Joon-Ho's execution is always engaging. There's a great balsnce of comedy and drama, hitting those comedic beats at just the right amount of time. The film is constantly moving, but even when the world is hectic, he finds time to reslly sit in the emotional core of the film. This was an upsetting film to watch.

Scream is not a series that should've continued beyond 3. While I enjoy 5, what it's lead into is insufferable. It was around the point where all the major players were in the room that it dawned on me. I don't give a flying fuck about these characters. They really ruined Chad from being a charismatic jock to a half baked comedic side character. Mindy has always been a second rate worse Randy.…

    God's Petting You

Garbage that lures you in with really interesting visuals. I particularly love the costume design for the leads and Jimmy’s apartment. Despite these few aspects, I find this film hard to watch. Unfunny, intentionally offensive shock humour type stuff with an obnoxious twist that leaves a sour taste when the credits roll.

The director was sitting behind me during the MANIFF 22 screening of this film and you could tell from his face, he’s a smug fucker who’s got that “i’m a genius” mentality.

Shame too, the description in the booklet made it sound really interesting.
