  For how bad this is, it’s impressive that it still comes together as a coherent film. It only does that barely. There are a few inspired moments, like two, but for the most part this is utterly phoned in and forgettable. Every once in awhile you’ll get a neat shot or an ounce of charisma, but for the most part, this had nothing for no one.

  It wants to be True Detective SOOO bad.

  I loved the dialogue in this. It has a Wes Anderson quality. Everyone is very direct and funny. Didn’t spend a ton of time digging into every consequence of its premise, but does have really good world building. I enjoyed a lot, but not as much as I thought I would. Robert Pattinson is amazing.

  Okay I get it this time. Watching in a theater was a great experience, and the tension tricks I learned to appreciate from Hitchcock are all here. Feels like three different, very tense thrillers. I really like it.
