Wow I liked almost nothing about this. Toni Colette gives a great performance (the same cannot be said for almost anyone else) and I giggled once or twice. Otherwise I found it pretty reductive, especially when it came to mortality and politics. Red hats? Really? Direct to a point that should offend its audience. I understand they have to keep Korean audiences in mind but then maybe just don’t do the Trump thing. And suuuch shallow characters like I didn’t care if they lived or died (for the 19th time). Sad because the premise has a lot of promise.

Final Destination 2000
Finally stepping into this franchise. It’s cool to watch this premise unfold in a really honest way knowing that it sparked such a successful franchise that I can only presume relies heavily on the formulas developed here. Great cast and production design. It does drag a bit more than you’d expect for such a short, one-two-punch kinda movie, but I cut it slack for being the first in the series.

Heart Eyes 2025
This was completely over-the-top ridiculous in a fun way but I think only like 80% of the people who worked on it knew that.

Call Me by Your Name 2017
Clearly special. It’s annoying how on the nose it is for somebody with my… predispositions… to love this movie, but what can I say. I feel like I’ve watched it every year and half or so since I was 16 and each time I see it through vastly different eyes. But each time, it love it.
