Alien: Covenant 2017
Michael Fassbender is the obvious highlight here. The rest felt a bit half-baked and indecisive. It had the potential to carry on interesting ideas from Prometheus but didn't stick the landing. I was also frustrated by the inability of Scott to decide whether he wanted twists or dramatic irony to guide the story.

Castle in the Sky 1986
A simple but light-hearted romp through Miyazaki's imagination. I definitely wasn't expecting this to be as funny as it was. Definitely a solid entry into the young/middle-adolescent Ghibli movies.
