Solid and endearing, a good blend of American (85%) and European (15%) cinema. Eisenbergs tries some things that mostly work. Never astounding but always good, the real showstopper is Culkin ofcourse, who layers this character with depth and arrogance, empathy and lack of it.

Not bad and made with a great nostalgic feel.
But some of the story and character flaws were so obvious that during watching I was triggered to stop and rewrite on the spot. It seemed like such an easy series of fixes, almost as if we just missed an important series of deleted scenes.

What a wonderful thing, to see a 70mm projection on actual film, in the cinema. More wonderful even that this is shot beautifully and with clear choices. Less wonderful that this is made without any studio interference it seems. And thus we end up seeing a beautifully shot and acted, overly long and at times pretentious biopic about events that never took place and people that never existed. Glad I saw this, but never again.

Its a nice film about not knowing how to say goodbye. Super cool to use music and dance in this way.
I was thrown off by the police interference and I'm not sure if that was what the story needed.
    Fun and energising watch.
