Diary of an African Nun 1977
Anything Julie dash will always warrant a second watch for me to fully let it marinate… however I found this films observations on the relationship between christianity and colonialism fascinating. Visually I also felt there were multiple nods to Sembène’s Black Girl (1966), but that could just be because aesthetically the films are quite similar.
