Instant Classic.
The Batman is an absolute masterpiece. It might be my favorite comic book movie released since The Dark Knight but even calling it a comic book movie just sounds wrong. This is a straight-up crime-noir, detective thriller and mystery which I love. Batman solving puzzles and riddles, finding clues is something I’ve waited years for in live-action and it’s on full display here. It’s more than just uncovering a mystery though, it’s a story rooted inside exposing corruption…

Soul 2020
Soul is one of the most moving and inspirational Pixar films of all time. Carried by superb voice performances from Jamie Foxx and Tina Fey, the film delivers incredibly impactful messages and ideas through it’s gorgeous animation and witty characters. The film also features some of the most authentic NYC scenery in any film I’ve ever seen. With that said, I find that the sequences not set on Earth are a little less engaging and relatable than the ones set in places the audience is familiar with.
