Mads Mikkelsen's character is so infuriatingly stupid. After being told the charges against him, he makes no attempt to understand the accusing party. He continues to act as if the accusations levied against him aren't honestly held by his accusers. Instead, he attributes malicious intent in the place of stupidity.
