There’s unsettling irony at the heart of this movie.
Will says to Lou, “You only get one life. It’s actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”
But he doesn’t.
And that contrast, between what he says and what he ultimately chooses is what makes the movie so heartbreakingly sad.
