  “I should’ve been a great many things, Mr. Mayer.”

  The cozier, warmer sister to Gerwig’s 2019 version. Unfortunately, some casting choices (Friedrich being 20 years older than Jo) do take me out of it, in addition to Bale’s shitty ass gotee. Claire Danes and Winona stand out as absolutely spectacular and I actually find that many of the feminist spotlight moments actually work better in this film than the 2019 version.
