    Just about on par with the original Hell House LLC in that it's got genuine scares amongst some plodding scenes and a disappointing ending. Loved the visuals, direction, spooky clowns and the use of flashbacks. Liked the location change even though I much preferred the haunted hotel/Halloween haunt of the original. Didn't love how the film barely even attempts to present itself as a genuine found footage doco (the constant music stings during scary moments were damn near immersion breaking).…

    Marginally better than the second because even though it's only like 15min shorter, it feels more brisk in its pacing and has far fewer moments of stretched out tedium. Better performances across the board and a beautiful Christmassy vibe make it stand out from most of the other grindhouse throwbacks we get nowadays.

    I remember when I saw the previous one, I was worried 3 would be so overly gory that it'd be totally desensitizing and therefore lose a lot…
