This movie does exactly what a remake should: changes the original, and amplifies.
I will say, the new ending is remarkably American in nature- good guys win, bad guys lose, suburban couple find themselves capable of horrific violence. You know, the problem with this movie isn't its imagery, its gore, its ultimate despair, or its horrible animation, or its voice acting, or even its story. All of those things can have, as Nyxfears calls it, a core conceit, and I do think there's some hidden in there.
The problem is that it's fucking boring.

This movie was terrible I had a great time. The main guy was a shit actor and basically none of it made sense but HOLY SHIT GUESS WHAT??????? So this movie ****SPOILERS**** is about an old whorehouse and one of the "scary" parts of it is that when weird shit starts happening, this WHITEish, GOOEY SUBSTANCE STARTS LEAKING FROM EVERY POSSIBLE PLACE IN THE HOUSE. AND THEN AT THE END, WHEN HE'S DEMOLISHING IT (or trying lol get rekt scrub) EACH TIME HE HITS IT THE HOUSE *MOANS* AND THAT SHIT FLIIIIES. THE HOUSE LITERALLY CUMS. THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER IT WAS AWFUL!!
