From the same director as Snowtown, who would have thought…Justin Kurzel has a talent and tendency in telling the terrifying and heinous acts/events in Australian modern history in a bleak, engaging and consistent manner. Which state is next??? The films captures so many themes from mental health, isolation, parenting? Makes you really consider the time period and context of it all, makes you feel sad and infuriated. The initial subtly of all these themes is kinda ruined in my opinion when we’re addressed through the credits about the current and past gun issues in Australia. Wowee Caleb Landry Jones can act tho

Broke my film hiatus with a 2 hour+ explanation of Schrödinger’s cat theory thing.
BUT this films achieves something special; through flawless direction, it underlines and exposes so many themes in an unpretentious and non-preachy manner. Definitely not your usual psychological thriller
