relatable for someone who moved away to a new country as a kid and left many a friend behind.

Truthfully, not an enjoyable film. As a young woman with similar tales, it was a bit triggering and brought up some murky feelings best left behind - but that is why it's an important film. The story was handled with such delicate care and tenderness by Molly Manner Walker.
I would not watch again, maybe when im in my 40s with teenage kids as a cautionary tale.
Costume Notes:
George Buxton did a great job of recreating the cheap sacrine sleazy uk club vibes. The use of neon green was worked well for the frame, but also an interesting way of showing insecurity and an innocence.
