The Brutalist is by far greatest American film epic since There Will Be Blood. From the aesthetic choice of using Vistavision film, down to the score. This film is the incredible story of the immigrant. This movie released at just the right time too. The illusionment, the disillusionment, the climb, the fall, the acceptance. This is what us immigrants go through when leaving our homes to come and make it in America.

“The creation of inner beauty cannot be an accident”
Wow. What an incredible film. Once you can get past the grotesque body mutilation porn that this movie tries to be, it actually has some real-life comparisons that are incredible to think about when you remember this was written back in the 70s. Like the “unnaturally natural” people who’ve evolved to eat plastic, and the current generation being tolerant of microplastics in our food. Introspective as hell.
