The film is unquestionably notable for its stunning design and amazing CGI. It's a pure, bone-chilling body horror that had me sweat watching it for the first time—not because I was sad, but because I was terrified. It's the type of horror that makes you wish the protagonist would die fast, as it seems like the only way to relieve her (and the spectator) of the painful bodily and visual torture. The film's visual impact far beyond my expectations, eliciting nausea, tears, amazement, contempt, grief, and dread. I enjoyed how, despite the tragedy, there was still opportunity for sarcasm and fun.

The film’s lacklustre direction and feeble script are compounded by performances that seem to undermine the gravity of the subject matter.

The actors, despite their potential, deliver performances that are woefully out of touch with the nuances of the issue at hand. The lead performances come across as one-dimensional and insincere, lacking the depth…
